At the MIC, we deal with the surgical treatment of diseases, disorders and malformations of the mouth, teeth, jaws and associated structures. Our Oral and Maxillofacial surgeons, Dr. Ian Young and Dr. Jim McGown, manage a wide variety of problems relating to the mouth, teeth and facial regions.

Our staff has years of experience meeting patients' needs. Beginning with scheduling your initial consultation, they will guide and help you receive the care you desire, be available to answer any questions you may have, and assist you with any administrative requirements for hospital bookings, forms and correspondence. Our surgical team has extensive training and experience in assisting with oral and maxillofacial surgical procedures, and is fully trained and appropriately qualified to take care of you during and after your procedure. We have a trained registered nurse to assist with your surgery. Each member of our staff is CPR certified. At the MIC, we have a modern, fully equipped operating theatre where procedures are carried out under a local anaesthetic. For your safety, our practice follows strict cross-infection guidelines as recommended by the National Health and Medical Research Council and the Australian Dental Association.
