Specialist Orthodontic Practice

We specialize in attractive braces and other orthodontic appliances. We use the latest bracket including clear or tooth coloured bracket that are hardly visible or lingual braces that are put on the inside or tongue side ot the teeth and are completely invisible. We also use invisalign or serial aligners to reposition the teeth in some cases.

Orthodontics and Facial Attractiveness

Braces (fixed appliances) are generally used to correct dental alignment issues. When there is a jaw alignment problem braces can be combined with headgear, functional appliances or expanders to achieve maximum dental and facial improvement in growing patients. In adults we can work with Maxillofacial surgeons so that the orthodontics is combined with surgery to correct jaw imbalances. Dr. Short prefer to carry out full fixed braces without any extractions of teeth if the case permits.

Attractive braces

Clear braces (ceramic), lingual appliances (on the tongue side of the teeth) and invisalign (clear aligners) can be used to make orthodontics less conspicuous. In the US, Lesley studied a technique of accelerated orthodontics that can reduce treatment time up to 2/3rds (only 6 to 9 months for full orthodontic treatment) if the orthodontics is carried out with gum surgery.
