The James Cook University Dental School was established in 2008 in response to the challenges presented by the oral health needs of northern Australia, and its foundation is part of the Faculty of Medicine, Health and Molecular Sciences' strong commitment to the provision of professional health education in the area.

JCU Dental is a teaching clinic. Your treatment will be performed by senior JCU Dentistry students under the close supervision of experienced clinical supervisors. All treatment is fully supervised and only students in their 3rd and subsequent years of the Bachelor of Dental Surgery will perform those treatments.

At JCU Dental, we offer a full range of treatments - from a simple check up and clean to specialised dental surgery. As part of our mission, we also deliver emergency and After Hours care services when required and specialist procedures referred by local clinical practitioners.

You will be treated in our state-of-the-art facility using brand new equipment in the JCU Dental Clinic. All treatments are delivered by students to a high standard under the close supervision of experienced Clinical supervisors who are often specialist practitioners in their own right.
